Happy Mardi Gras - Emeril's Cherry Whiskey Sours


Cherry Whiskey Sours
* Adapted from Emeril Lagasse

Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey, preferably Jameson
4 ounces homemade sour mix, recipe below
2 teaspoons Maraschino cherry syrup (such as Reese brand)
Crushed ice
Maraschino cherries or lemon slices, for garnish

Directions:
Combine the whiskey, sour mix, and cherry syrup in a large old-fashioned glass with ice, or strain into a martini glass. Stir, garnish with cherry and/or lemon slice, and serve.

Sour Mix:
1-ounce lemon juice
1-ounce sugar
2 ounces water

Combine lemon juice and sugar, then dilute with water and stir to dissolve sugar.

Yield: 4 ounces

Yum! I am a whiskey/bourbon girl all the way. This sounds like the perfect mix of down-home and foo-foo. ;)

I love whiskey sours, and this looks like a great one! And, is that an ice sphere in the glass? It also looks great.
